VIDEO: Man charged for slapping Wilmington police officer

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wait until you see this video! A man hit a Wilmington Police Officer this weekend and it was all caught on camera.

Police say they received several calls Saturday regarding a man displaying erratic behavior at Military Cutoff and Eastwood roads.

When officer arrived, 22-year-old John Lewis Watson allegedly tried to punch one of the officers.

In the video, you can see Watson flipping his water bottle in the air before the punch.

Watson is charged with assault on a law enforcement officer and indecent exposure.
