Man charged in crash involving moped

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Investigators with the Wilmington Police Department have charged a man in connection with a weekend crash.

The crash happened Sunday night at the intersection of Carolina Beach Road and Burnett Blvd. Police said James Carson Kearns, 25, hit a moped and its rider. There’s no word on the condition.

Kearns is facing charges including driving while impaired and felony serious injury by vehicle. He was placed in jail under a $3,500 bond.
