Man charged in heroin trafficking investigation


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Deputies said a man is facing charges in a heroin trafficking investigation.

Deputies said the investigation began five months ago and involved the New Hanover and Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, along with the State Bureau of Investigation. NHCSO spokesman, Lt. Jerry Brewer, said in a news release Aaron Bernard Boyer, 31, was arrested yesterday on I-40. Deputies said they found 113 grams of raw heroin in the car, which is valued at about $113,000.

Deputies said when they conducted a search of the suspect’s home on S. 9th Street, they found 10,000 new heroin bags and other items. Deputies said he was trafficking the drugs from an unknown county.

Boyers is in jail under no bond on various heroin trafficking and other related charges.
