Man charged in Holden Beach robbery


BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Deputies said the man wanted in a drug store robbery has been arrested.

The robbery happened Friday night at the store in Holden Beach on Sabbath Home Road. A sheriff’s office spokeswoman said Wilford Norman Turman, 51, is facing charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon and tracking opium or heroin. According to arrest warrants, he had a bottle containing 500 Oxycodone pills.

She said he was found in a camper trailer on Randy Street in Supply around noon today and was arrested after trying to run from deputies.
