Man charged in home invasion

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Deputies with the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office charged a man accused of breaking into a home.

The incident happened last night around 8:30 p.m. in the 300 block of Hedingham Lane. When the owner returned home, deputies said he found the suspect, Brandon Ferdinando, in the house leaving out of the back door. The homeowner tried to chase the suspect but the suspect got away.

Deputies said they found the man matching the description nearby. Ferdinando, 23, is facing charges including breaking and entering and larceny. He was released from jail on a $5,000 bond.
