Man charged in sex offenses involving teens

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — Leland Police have charged a man with additional sex offenses.

Police say Scott Aubry, 36, is facing charges including statutory rape of a 15-year-old and drug charges. Police say Aubry was originally being held in the Brunswick County Jail for sexual assault charges from an investigation back in October of 2014.

Police say the recent charges stemmed from an ongoing investigation. Police say based on these new developments, they suspect that there are additional victims as young as 15 years old. Investigators urge anyone who thinks they could have been victimized by Aubry to contact the LPD.

Investigators say the investigation not only involves sexual assaults but also the distribution of the street drug known as “Molly” which is a form of Ecstasy.
