Police: Muddy man wearing boxers takes truck at Brunswick Co. middle school
SHALLOTTE, NC (WWAY) — A mud-covered man who wasn’t fully dressed tried to take a Brunswick County Schools pickup truck early Thursday in Shallotte, officials said.
A schools employee told deputies that when he arrived at Shallotte Middle School about 6 a.m., a man covered in mud and grass and wearing boxer shorts, sunglasses and socks, tried to follow him into the school, according to Brunswick County Sheriff’s Capt. Mose Highsmith.
The employee said the man claimed he was “practicing for a bomb threat.” When the employee wouldn’t allow him into the building, Highsmith the got got into a truck and took off. Officials said they found the truck down the street. There’s no word on whether charges will be filed against the unidentified man.
