Man critically hurt after dog groomer shop attack

GREENVILLE, NC (WCTI) — An 18-year-old man was arrested and charged with attempted first degree murder after a brutal attack was reported at a pet groomer shop, according to Pitt County Deputies.

Information was released by authorities early Thursday. Pitt County officials report, Jamas Malyk Williams (right) was arrested in connection with the armed robbery attack. The attack was reported Tuesday, May 12th, in front of The Village Groomer, located at 4601 East Tenth Street in Greenville.

The victim’s name is Ben Stocks. Deputies say Stocks was robbed of cash and received serious injuries to his face and head during the assault. At last check, he remains at Vidant Medical Center in critical condition.  Stocks’ wife and another employee were also in the business at the time. They were not injured.

Williams is charged with attempted first degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault by pointing gun and second degree kidnapping. Another suspect, Tyshon Rashad Carter (left), was also charged in connection to the case.
