Man dies after crash with dump truck

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A man was killed this morning in a traffic accident on U.S. 74-76 in Leland.

Troopers said Phillip Brent Bordeaux, 31, crashed into the back of a dump truck around 10 a.m. near Malmo Loop Road. Troopers said Bordeaux pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers said speed and drug use were contributing factors.
