Man enters plea for strangling mother

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC, (WWAY) — A man pleaded guilty to Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury and Assault by Strangulation on his mother.

Bazen had only been recently released from NC Department of Corrections after 15 months for Assault Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury on his father.

Bazen was sentenced to 36-56 months active time in the Department of Corrections. When he is released, he will be on 24 months supervised probation and is to participate in Brunswick County Domestic Violence batterer’s Treatment Court.
