Man facing murder charge in businessman’s death denied bond again
JACKSONVILLE, NC (AP) — Authorities in Onslow County have rejected three requests for bond for a man accused in the death of a business owner who was shot in the head as he slept.
The Daily News of Jacksonville reports 29-year-old William Parker of Holly Ridge appeared in court Thursday for a bond hearing. He is charged with an open count of murder in the death of Elmer Hudler, a Sneads Ferry businessman who was shot three times.
Parker was charged on April 23.
Attorneys for Parker filed a motion to set bond last week after he was denied by a magistrate and in District Court. One of Parker’s lawyers appealed to the court, saying his client was not a flight risk.
Superior Court Judge Charles Henry denied Parker’s latest motion.
