Habitual felon goes to prison after stealing from Walmart on Carolina Beach Rd.


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Harnett County man will spend the at least 5 years in prison for a larceny from Walmart on Carolina Beach Road on May 3, 2016.

Donald Ray Solis, of Coats, plead guilty on Tuesday to stealing a weed eater and computer from Walmart, and then pawning that property a couple of hours later.

Superior Court Judge John Nobles sentenced Solis, a habitual felon, to 5-7 years in prison. Solis had previously failed to appear in court for these
charges, and was apprehended in Harnett County where he faces additional charges for larceny.

Solis’s prior convictions include breaking and entering, forgery and utterings, felony larcenies, identity theft, and obtaining property by false pretenses.
