FIRST ON 3: Man jailed under secret peeping, child sex charges


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington man is in jail this morning under serious sex offenses.

According to jail records, Barry Kevin Wright, 42, is facing charges of felony secret peeping and indecent liberties with a minor. He’s accused of having nude photos of a minor on his phone, according to a news release from the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office.

The arrest happened early this morning, but Lt. Jerry Brewer said the effort to arrest him started several hours ago. Wright was found at the Holiday Inn Express off of Van Campen Blvd. last night and finally came out of his room around 5 a.m., Brewer said.

Records show Wright is in jail under a $100,000 bond and was due in court today.
