Man posing as masseuse pleads guilty to sexual offense

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington man will spend between 4 and 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a woman while posing as a masseuse.
According to the District Attorney’s Office, 31-year-old Andre Morrell Fullwood passed himself off as a masseuse contracted by an employer to provide employees with complimentary massages.
In June of 2023, Fullwood contacted a female and told her a massage was being offered by her company as an incentive to employees for their hard work. The DA’s office says in an effort to build trust with the female victim, Fullwood provided her supervisor’s name.
When the victim arrived at the downtown residence that was set up as a massage business, Fullwood provided the victim with paperwork to fill out and sign regarding her massage. During the
massage, the victim was sexually assaulted. The female victim reported the assault to the Wilmington Police Department. Officers collected evidence and submitted it to the North Carolina State Crime Lab. A match was made to Fullwood and he was arrested.
In addition to his prison sentence, Fullwood has been ordered to register as a sexual offender for the remainder of his natural lifetime when he is released from prison.
