Man shot on Mercer Avenue

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A man was shot in the leg just before 7 p.m. Friday evening. New Hanover County dispatch said it happened on Mercer Avenue near Wakefield Road.

The StarNews is reporting residents heard gunshots, and saw a dark-colored vehicle leaving the scene. The victim is being interviewed by Wilmington Police Officers at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
