Man tied to 2012 murder now charged in Taco Bell robbery

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A man who served time in connection to a deadly shooting six years ago in Wilmington is behind bars again.

Nathaniel Thomas Lawrence was one of six people involved in the murder of a delivery driver in 2012.

Now, he’s in jail for a laundry list of alleged crimes.

According to jail records, Lawrence is charged with 5 counts of second degree kidnapping, 5 counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, safecracking and other offenses.

A Wilmington Police spokesperson says these charges are tied to an armed robbery of the Taco Bell on 17th Street last November.

Lawrence went to prison in 2015 for his role in the robbery and murder of Chinese food delivery driver Zhen Bo Liu.
