Man wanted for robbing Wilmington store clerk, stole cash and cigarettes

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are searching for a man who robbed the Handee Hugo convenience store on Carolina Beach Road two weeks ago.

Witnesses describe the suspect as a black male, weighing 240-250 pounds and 5’8” or 5’9.” He was wearing all black clothing and white construction gloves.

Police say the suspect entered the store around 2 a.m. May 31 and demanded cash and several packs of cigarettes. The store clerk complied.

WPD says the suspect left the store and headed west toward Burnett Boulevard.
