Man wanted in Virginia found in Castle Hayne

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — US Marshals captured a man in New Hanover County who was wanted in Virginia.

Investigators say they wanted Jairo Alejandro Garcia Licona on outstanding warrants for attempted rape, abduction with intent to defile, forcible sodomy and vehicle theft. The charges stem an incident Aug. 1 in Harrisonburg, VA.

The Violent Fugitive Task Force in Wilmington says officers took him into custody without incident Wednesday night at the Carroll Mobile Home Park on Windsail Drive in Castle Hayne.

He is in the New Hanover County Jail pending extradition to Virginia.
