Man arrested for using counterfeit money

WILMINGTON — A Wilmington man is in jail this morning for trying to use counterfeit money in a downtown Wilmington bar.

Police say 32-year-old Antonio Lentini tried to pay for a drink at the liquid room around 1:30 Sunday morning with a counterfeit $100 bill.

During the arrest, Lentini used the alias Antonio Amato.

Officers also found more counterfeit bills on him. Authorities charged Lentini with common law forgery and obtaining property by false pretenses.

He is still in the New Hanover County jail on $5,000 bond.
