After-school program owner charged with indecent liberties

A New Hanover County man is in jail under a $1 million secured bond.

John Maisenhelder is charged with three counts of taking indecent liberties with a child. New Hanover County deputies and Wilmington Police worked together on the case.

Mr. Maisenhelder is the owner of Creative after School Training (CAST) on Masonboro Loop Road.

Calls were made to the parents of forty-two kids who are currently enrolled in programs offered by CAST. These calls served as the initial parent notification and are now being expanded to include the students of previous enrollment.
