Man jailed for selling pain pills

WHITEVILLE — A man police say was trafficking large amounts of prescription pain pills in Whiteville.

He is now behind bars on more than $1 million bond.

David Brunelle was stopped Monday for not wearing his seat belt.

Investigators say when they searched his car they found more than 100 doses of prescription pain medicine such as hydrocodone in his car.

Brunelle, a Wilmington resident, is in the Columbus County jail on $1,000,500 bond.
