Man netted in NC met bust gets 14 years

FAYETTEVILLE — A man authorities tapped as a key player in eastern North Carolina’s meth trade has been sentenced to more than 14 years in federal prison.

The Fayetteville Observer reports Friday that 52-year-old Steven McClenny of Roseboro was also ordered Thursday to pay more than $5,000 in restitution.

In December, McClenny was one of eight Sampson County men who pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Authorities said the men arrested in the operation, “Juiced Out,” were central figures in a rapidly growing methamphetamine trade.

Another suspect, Samuel Faircloth, was sentenced in February to five years in prison. The other six men are awaiting sentencing.
