Man shot in leg while walking home

Time: 11:46 p.m. – Tuesday night
Location: 1900 block Colwell Avenue
Offense: ADW / serious injury

Summary: The male victim, age 23, reported that he was walking home when he noticed a white van pull up behind him. He said he heard several shots and realized he’d been shot in the leg.

The victim was transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center for treatment of a non-life threatening injury.

According to the victim, he did not know who would want to shoot him or why. Responding officers were unable to find evidence of a shooting in the area where the victim said he had been shot, however the investigation is continuing.
