Man in wheelchair struck on Wooster Street

A man in a motorized wheelchair was seriously injured when he drove into the path of a car at about 10:50 Tuesday morning. The man was crossing Wooster Street near 9th Street (not in the crosswalk) when he was struck by a silver Honda Civic.

Albert White, age 59, of Wilmington was taken to the hospital where he’s in intensive care.

The name and age of the female driver are not yet available. The accident is still being investigated. No charges have been placed at this time.
