Mastectomy bras given to women in need in the Cape Fear
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — To help women in the area who received a mastectomy, one group is lending a hand and a bra to those who need it.
The “Support the Girls” North Carolina Chapter received donations from a mastectomy bra business in Goldsboro which closed down. The event happened at the Grace United Methodist Church and they even had someone there to help some women find out their size.
Support the Girls North Carolina Chapter director Liz Swain says it’s important to help these women no matter what.
“It’s a dignity issue and I can’t imagine if you’ve had a breast removed and now you need to have a Mastectomy bras, how you’re going to get your hands on them, when you’re only given that one,” Swain said.
Swain also says it is out of the ordinary to receive a donation like this. If you would like to donate and help out, click here.
