Math teacher accused of kicking and beating children
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Brunswick County math teacher is out of jail on bond after Brunswick County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested her Wednesday.
The arrest warrants showed two people took out complaints against Victoria Jeffries, 23, claiming she kicked a seven-year-old into a wall, and beat a five-year-old with a belt leaving both children with bruises on between Jan. 26 and Jan. 28. The arrest warrants said Jeffries was arrested on two counts each of assault on a child under 12, and misdemeanor child abuse.
Brunswick County Schools spokeswoman, Jessica Swencki, confirmed that Jeffries, who is now on paid administrative leave pending the investigation’s outcome, has worked for North Brunswick High as a math teacher since August. Swencki added that Jeffries’ pending charges are not related to her official duties as a Brunswick County Schools teacher.
