McCrory becoming frequent visitor in Port City
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Gov. Pat McCrory made his sixth visit in less than three months to the Port City today, making a stop at the USS North Carolina.
McCrory spoke at the battleship to dedicate the new SECU Memorial Walkway to veterans. Recently, the governor has made more frequent stops to the port city. Based on our records, he’s made more stops in the past couple of months to New Hanover County than all of last year.
We also asked if this region was a big part of his campaign for re-election, which is only a few months away.
“You’ve seen me in Wilmington now six times in two or three months,” McCrory said. “We don’t see Mr. Cooper in Raleigh or anywhere else in the state. He kind of comes in and out of hiding every two or three months and we haven’t seen him in three or four weeks.”
The governor added that he enjoys visiting the area and called it a strong economic region for our state.
