McCrory unveils new TV ad linking Dalton, Perdue
RALEIGH, NC (AP) — Republican gubernatorial nominee Pat McCrory is trying to reinforce a connection between Democratic rival Lt. Gov. Walter Dalton and departing North Carolina Gov. Bev Perdue in a new television commercial.
McCrory’s campaign said its second television commercial of the general election campaign is running in markets throughout North Carolina starting Tuesday.
The ad shows a man and a woman sitting at a diner eating french fries. The woman said the “guy running against” McCrory wants to keep Perdue’s policies in place. The man responds: “Is he not well?”
A Dalton campaign spokesman said McCrory’s commercial shows the former Charlotte mayor is already breaking a pledge against running negative ads. Dalton has tried to distance himself from Perdue, saying he’s not a carbon copy of the governor.
