Mechanical issues to limit Southport-Fort Fisher Ferry

SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) — It is not the off-season yet, but the Southport-Fort Fisher Ferry is being forced to move to a reduce schedule for the time being.

The NC Department of Transportation says due to mechanical issues, the ferry route will temporarily be on a one-boat schedule beginning tomorrow.

The schedule will be as follows:

• From Southport: 5:30 a.m., 7, 9:15, 10:45, 12:15 p.m.,1:45, 3:15, 4:45, and 6:15.
• From Fort Fisher: 6:15 a.m., 7:45, 10, 11:30, 1 p.m., 2:30, 4, 5:30, and 7.

The Southport-Fort Fisher route will resume its regular schedule as soon as a second boat is available.
