Ministry holds prayer circle for men at sea

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Ship workers from around the world make a stop at the Port City. One group works to make their stay a little more special while they are away from home.

The Ministry International Seamen’s Center tries to bring every sailor a breath of fresh air when they visit. The group holds a prayer circle for every ship to give everyone an opportunity to relax, and to have meaningful conversations with each other.

“We can share God’s love with them right here and that’s an exciting thing to do. For some of these men, this is the for time they’ve been not just to Wilmington, but to the United States,” said Henry Capillary, a chaplain with the center.

The workers can spend as long as nine months at sea. Most of the workers on this ship came all the way from the Philippines.
