Missing Brunswick County teen possibly spotted in South Carolina

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) – A South Brunswick High School student is missing and may be on her way to Florida with her boyfriend.

According to The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, Macayla Wallace, 14, left South Brunswick with River Boyd, 15,  just after 8:00 a.m. yesterday.

They were seen in a 2011 Honda Civic with NC license plate BBY-4237. She was wearing a green long-sleeve shirt, purple leggings, and gray boots, and was carrying a gray backpack.

Deputies say Boyd was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gray pants, white shoes and carrying a black, red, and green backpack.

According to the Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, a witness told detectives that the teens were seen walking near the southbound on-ramp of Highway 95 in Hamer, SC around 12:25 p.m. yesterday.

Wallace has dyed her hair dark red and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. She and Boyd were holding a sign that stated the two were attempting to travel to Florida. The vehicle was not seen by the witness.
