Missing Eden woman found alive 24 years later hugs daughter in emotional reunion
ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, NC (WFMY) — The Rockingham County woman found alive 24 years after disappearing arrived to court on Thursday, March 26.
Rockingham County Sheriff Sam Page said Michele Hundley Smith told investigators she initially left in December 2001 because of an ongoing domestic dispute. Authorities confirmed her whereabouts on February 20, a day after the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office received a tip about her location.
