Missing ‘violent registered sex offender’ arrested in Pender County

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The man who took off from an assisted living facility in Chadbourn in late September turned himself in at the magistrate’s office around midnight in Pender County.

Terry Frank Adcock disappeared on September 28. The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office called him a ‘violent registered sex offender’ and asked for people to call 911 if they saw him.

He was convicted in 2008 of the attempted rape of a child. He was released from prison in August, after serving 9 years behind bars.

Adcock is charged with failing to register as a sex offender.

He’s being held under no bond for a post release parole hearing.
