Missing Wilmington woman

Wilmington Police Department detectives are trying to locate a woman who disappeared under unusual circumstances.

Susan Lynn Aronoff, age 52, of the 800 block of Walden Drive, was last seen on June 12, 2008.

When family members expressed concern, WPD officers checked Ms. Aronoff’s apartment. They found the door unlocked, TV still on, and food on the table. Ms. Aronoff’s cell phone also was left behind. Nothing was disturbed, and there were no signs of foul play. No one has heard from Ms. Aronoff. She has some history of mental problems.

Detectives have been able to determine that Ms. Aronoff took a taxi to the bus station, making stops first at a grocery store and a bank. She mentioned to the driver that she was headed to New York to visit her father. Her family in New York says she never arrived there. It is not known whether she actually boarded a bus.
