The MLK Celebration Committee, which represents the greater Wilmington area and Southeastern NC, is kicking off a week of events that will celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

On Tuesday, Monday’s festivities will continue with a Hat Parade and Fashion Show in the Peabody Auditorium of the Frederick Douglas Academy. The event will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, the Dead Crow Comedy Club will host an Improv show from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Admission is $5 at the door.

On Thursday, the YWCA will host a Potluck for Peace at the Community Arts Center. Guests are invited to bring a dish to share.

The Committee hopes that this week’s events will further its mission of improving racial relations in the Wilmington and Southeastern NC communities.
