Mobile home fire claims life of Brunswick County woman

A mobile home fire claimed the life of a Brunswick County woman.

Authorities said Joan Stanley of Shallotte died as a result of the blaze that broke out Monday around 1:00 p.m.

It burned down the 50-year-old Stanley’s mobile home on the 4700 block of Hen Cove Road.

Authorities said the fire appeared to be cooking related. It is the first fatal fire in Brunswick County this year.
