Monthly ‘Goat Yoga’ classes now being offered in the Port City

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Downward facing dog? Why not downward facing goat?

Some lucky people in Wilmington got to be a part of a growing national trend: goat yoga. Yes, it’s a thing.

The animals come from Be Life Farm in Bladen County and the class costs $20.

Attendees are invited to set their mats down on the grass and perform poses led by an instructor, all while the goats roam around them.

We’re told if a goat leaves droppings on your mat, that means good luck.

Mary Jordan and her family own the farm and she says they love seeing people smile and laugh during the class.

“We have goats, horses, dogs. We just live and breathe these animals. They’re our family! We had friends kept telling us about goat yoga, ‘Y’all’ve gotta do goat yoga,’ and so we offered it last year out here and it’s taken off so much. We’re doing it once a month now for 2018,” said Jordan.

They plan to hold the classes at the Tidal Creek Co-Op on the fourth Saturday of each month from now through May and the third Saturday of each month from June through December.
