Moores Creek National Battlefield to host Saturday summer programming

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Moores Creek National Battlefield is planning ranger-led programs on Saturdays this summer.

The events are free and open to the public.

The 2024 summer schedule includes:

  • June 22/July 27 – Outlander Tour of Moores Creek National Battlefield
  • June 29/August 4 – Why are North Carolinians known as Tar Heels
  • July 6 – Bagpipe Music
  • July 13 – Guided Tour of Moores Creek National Battlefield
  • July 20 – What’s in a Name?: The Black River Road

In addition to listed programs, park staff and volunteers will also provide impromptu historic weapons demonstrations on Saturdays.

Park officials said all programs begin at 11 a.m. unless otherwise noted.
