More Sunday shootings reported in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — We’re learning about another reported shooting in Wilmington over the weekend.

A WPD spokeswoman said a ShotSpotter notification came in around 12:24 p.m. in the 500 block of Clay Street. Police said a home and car in the area were shot at, both occupied. There were no injuries reported.

This was at least the fourth reported shooting in Wilmington on Sunday. A deadly shooting was reported on Castle Street about an hour before, and reports of shots fired happened Sunday morning in other portions of the city. No damage or injuries were reported in those instances.

A WPD spokeswoman said Monday morning they believe all four shootings are connected.
