More details learned about Anthony Pierce

We’re learning more about Anthony Pierce. He worked for the city of Wilmington as a trash collector for two years. Since the incident surrounding Officer Matthews’ death, Pierce has been terminated from the city.

He didn’t show up to work for nearly two weeks because he was in jail, and committed a felony while still employed with the city.

He had a prior conviction for armed robbery in Pennsylvania.

Simple background checks are required for all prospective city employees, but the city only does a criminal check for employees who will be dealing with money, the law or children.
