Mother’s Day victim upgraded

There is good news to report tonight on an elderly assault victim in Columbus County.

The 78-year-old Tabor City woman who was robbed, beaten and raped in her home on Mother’s Day is on the mend.

Doctors have moved her from intensive care to a regular room at the hospital.

Deputies have arrested Arthur Stanley of Nakina for attacking her.

He’s also accused of kidnapping the woman’s daughter and breaking into three other homes.
