Motorcyclist dead after accident in Southport

SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) — One man is dead after an accident Sunday afternoon in Brunswick County.

Highway Patrol says the accident happened around 2:30 p.m. when Alice Osbourne, 62, hit and killed James Osbourne, 37, while driving on NC 87 near Southport. Alice reportedly drove over the center lane, hitting James, who was driving a motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alice Osbourne was transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Alice and James are not related.
