Multi-Cultural stage performers spice up festival

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Things got global today at the Azalea Festival Street Fair’s Multi-Cultural Stage.

Groups and community organizations presented diverse ethnic performances, while bands filled the air with music from around the world.

A Polynesian dance group from Jacksonville made their way over to Wilmington to share their love of Polynesian culture and dance with the Azalea Festival visitors.

“Coming up here to Wilmington it’s exciting to show all the work that we have put in since November, and just to pass it on to other people and put smiles on people’s faces,” said dancer Iris Manso.

WWAY’s own senior reporter Alexa Block was back for the second year to help host the annual event.
