Multi-vehicle crash in Pender County ties up Highway 117


PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Multiple vehicles were involved in a crash in Pender County Thursday night.

According to a Pender County Sheriff’s Office spokesman, it happened near Fallbrook Lane in Rocky Point along Highway 117. At least five vehicles were involved.

Fire crews, EMS, and Highway Patrol responded to the scene.

A state trooper says the driver of a Ford F-150 crossed the center line causing him to sideswipe a Chevrolet Tahoe. The driver of the F-150 then hit a Subaru head on causing the Subaru to get knocked out of the roadway where it was then hit by a Hyundai Sonata.

Three people were taken to Pender County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the F-150 was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center and is facing multiple citations including DWI, not having a valid drivers license, and having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle.
