UPDATE: Murder trial for Nashid Porter delayed one week

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) —  Trial for a murder suspect representing himself will be delayed one week.

Trial for Nashid Porter, charged with the 2012 murder of Brian Grant, was expected to begin this week.

Last week, 12 jurors were seated. Then, there was a pre-trial hearing. Trial was expected to begin tomorrow, but according to District Attorney Bed David’s office, the judge had an unexpected death in the family.

Porter’s trial will resume Monday June 13.
