MySpace to combat sexual predators
MySpace.com has agreed with North Carolina and 40 four other states to add extensive measures to combat sexual predators.
Officials say MySpace has agreed to include several online protections to its web site and to participate in a group to develop age verification and other security measures.
MySpace will also accept independent monitoring and changes to the structure of its site.
NC Attorney General Roy Cooper said, “I commend MySpace for its willingness to step up and make its site safer. With this agreement, MySpace is tackling some of the most risky elements of social networking.”
Cooper and other attorney general’s have been seeking greater controls for online networking sites.
