N.C. to get $1.8 million for environment
More than $1.8 million in grants will go to improve water quality, protect North Carolina rivers and help farmers clean up hog lagoons, state officials announced today.
The grants are part of an agreement with Smithfield Foods, to provide $50 million over 25 years to improve North Carolina’s environment.
A large portion of this round of grant money is coming to Onslow and Columbus Counties.
