Natural gas rates to possibly go down

Piedmont Natural Gas Company today filed for a reduction in its billing rates for customers in North and South Carolina.

The company said it reflects the recent drop in the wholesale cost of gas. The rate reductions could save customers about 7 percent here in our state.

If approved, the new rates would go into effect on January 1st.
