Navassa shooting leaves man with hip wound

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A shooting in Navassa left one man with a bullet wound to the hip.

Brunswick County dispatch received a call around 6:30 tonight that a person had been shot in the 500 block of Plum Street. When deputies arrived they found Kenneth Donell Moore, who had suffered a gunshot wound to the hip area.

He was transported by ambulance, and it appears that his injuries are not life-threatening.

The initial investigation reveals that Moore was socializing with a group at the area of Plum Street and Main Street when some type of altercation erupted.

The investigation is ongoing and there is no further information available regarding suspects or motives.
