NC father accused of breaking 3-month-old’s leg
ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) – An Arden father is facing a felony child abuse charge after police say he fractured his 3-month-old child’s leg.
The Asheville Citizen-Times reports (http://avlne.ws/12s3Q6f ) that 35-year-old Trevor Warren Ridge was charged by the Buncombe County sheriff’s office Wednesday with intentional child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury.
A warrant says Ridge assaulted the baby on Dec. 14 causing a “spiral femur fracture.” Investigators said a doctor who examined the child determined the fracture was caused after the leg was twisted.
Ridge is being held at the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $10,000 bond. It isn’t known whether Ridge has an attorney.
